This course will focus on some recent developments in literary theory and related fields, especially major debates concerning event, singularity, technology, the body, and the posthuman. Specifically, selections from texts by or about such thinkers as Gilles Deleuze, Alain Badiou, Jacques Lacan, Giorgio Agamben, Walter Benjamin, Jacques Derrida, N. Katherine Hayles, and Bernard Stiegler will be studied.
